Python
My first programming language is Python. The reason I chose Python was that it is very near to English, and it’s very easy to learn. When I first wrote “Hello world!” program, I felt incredibly happy. Some people might disagree or ask, “what’s so special about that?”- but as a science student, writing my first line of code was a moment of happiness and the realization that I can do whatever I want.
No programming background
Until my 8th grade, I had never written a single line of code. Our computer syllabus had maybe one chapter on programming, and all we did was draw flowcharts in our notebooks. Then in 9th grade, I chose biology, and everything ended there.I always liked the idea of coding, but I never had the time.
My starting
On 25 April 2025, my board exams ended, and we were told our new session would start in August. That gave me three months-and I planned to finally do something tech-related. On 4th May in the morning, my father sent me a link to a DevOps bootcamp registration form with the message, “Fill it out”. so I did-despite having zero coding knowledge.(More about that bootcamp journey, I’ll share in another blog post!)
From nothing to something
Once the bootcamp began, I started learning Python on YouTube. Since I had a full three months free, I watched some lectures. But then came news that college would reopen from 19th May for just two weeks, so I took a short break from Python during that time. In June, I resumed my learning. And to this day, I’ve been exploring Python through different websites and YouTube lectures
My last few words about it
To me, Python isn’t just a programming language—it’s something I always wanted to do. I’m not saying everyone should start learning Python like I did. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I just want to say: don’t waste your precious time on random things. Discover yourself, and do what brings you happiness and peace.
